Preparation for fieldwork at the 30th session of the International Seabed Authority
The team is actively preparing for a fieldwork in Kingston, Jamaica during Part II of the the 30th session of the International Seabed Authority (ISA). This year’s ISA session is of particular importance due to the ongoing dialogue surrounding regulation of deep sea mining, including negotiations on the Mining Code.
Our team members are looking forward to being on the ground for this meeting to conduct fieldwork and hear from a range of expertise and opinions. This fieldwork will allow the project to speak to a range of key actors from across the Pacific and globally, helping us to build our understanding of the diverse perspectives on deep sea mining, including voices from government, non-governmental organisations, civil society, academia and businesses.
