Workshop: The Politics of Deep Sea Mining in the Pacific (2-3 December 2024)
The multidisciplinary workshop aimed to foster research collaboration on the most pressing issues emerging around Deep Sea Mining, with a specific focus on the Pacific Island Countries and their communities. This was a very active two days of share ideas, practices, and insights, as well as building networks and collaborations. Held at the Macmillan Brown Centre for Pacific Studies at University of Canterbury, the workshop brought together a diverse group of multidisciplinary scholars from the fields of political science, development studies, peace studies, international Law, anthropology, and sociology.
