Upcoming Talk: Media and Communication Research Seminar Series (May 26, 1-2PM). Nicolai Skiveren & Luisa Moana Leo Tupuana'i to present findings from forthcoming study

On May 26th, our postdoctoral fellows - Nicolai Skiveren and Luisa Moana Leo Tupuana'i - will present some of their most recent findings from a forthcoming publication on DSM discourses and climate change. The talk will focus on a corpus-assisted discourse study (CADS) of the activities of corporate actors and international NGOs working in this sector. Drawing on the just transition literature, they will highlight how this discursive struggle holds distinct implications for Pacific Island Countries (PICs), who are now having to decide whether to embark on the DSM venture. Be there - or be square!
