New Publication: Framing deep sea mining in/with Oceania

We’re pleased to share that John Childs’ new article, “Framing deep sea mining in/with Oceania,” is now published online as part of our forthcoming special issue with The Extractive Industries and Society. In this wide-ranging piece, Childs examines how deep-sea mining in Oceania is shaped by questions of representation, resistance, and responsibility, foregrounding Indigenous Oceanian perspectives and critiques of extractivism. The article explores how struggles over deep-sea mining are also struggles over knowledge, sovereignty, relationality, and the future of ocean governance in the Anthropocene.
